TRADITIONAL ACUPUNCTURIST - JAN STILL   CQSW. ASW. Lic.Ac. MBAC

I qualified as a Traditional Acupuncturist in 1997, having completed a 3 year course at Degree level which gave me a Licence in Acupuncture (Lic. Ac). I studied at the College of Traditional Acupuncture, Leamington Spa (CTA).

Once qualified, I set up the The Natural Health Clinic for Traditional Acupuncture in Warwick Market Place with another Acupuncturist Erika Fitzgibbon who has now retired.

For the last 5 years I also taught Traditional Acupuncture on the Degree course at CTA.

Traditional Acupuncture is at least 2000 years old, so there are always new things to learn, I continue to attend training courses, and seminars, as part of my continuing professional development.

My previous career was in Social Work, I ran a residential home for the elderly and disabled for 3 years, and for 2 years worked in a community crisis hostel. At 25 I studied Social Work qualifying with a CQSW.

For the following 10 years I specialised in work with abused children and their families. I have specialist skills in counselling, emotional distress, and behavioural issues.

In addition I specialised in Mental Health, and was an Approved Mental Health Social Worker working with GP’s and Psychiatrists to secure the well being of patients in the community and in hospital.

Traditional Acupuncture is a medicine that was developed to treat the physical, emotional and psychological well being of each  person, I am able to draw on a considerable professional training and work experience when working to improve an individual’s  physical and emotional health.

When I came across Traditional Acupuncture; I was so impressed at how it combined all the elements of my previous work, as  well as treating the physical problems that people experience; I knew that I had to learn more.

I work with people of all ages, from children to the very elderly, it gives me great pleasure to be able to give time and care to such a wide range of individuals.
